About us
The object of the Trust is to maintain the fabric of Inverkeithny Kirk so that the building may be used for events, providing residents and visitors with social, recreational, educational, cultural and environmental benefits.
The site is a place of beauty in a bend of the River Deveron and has been a place of meditation and reflection for well over a thousand years.
The trust is preserving an important part of the environment, history and culture of the Community.

Achievements
In the first major year of restoration work, three lancet leaded windows have been restored, the roof repaired and interior walls painted.

Stained Glass Windows
Three lancet leaded windows were removed, stripped, cleaned and releaded using original glass as much as possible. They were then refitted and sealed.

Roof Repairs
The skews between the old and ‘new’ church were broken out and reconcreted, cast iron guttering was replaced on the south side, and new slates fitted.

Painting
Mouldy paintwork was stripped back and plaster repaired on the walls and window edges prior to painting with three coats. Heritage paint was used on the inlays. Exterior guttering was also repainted.
Projects
Our next projects are to refurbish the vestry, provide more suitable car parking spaces and install a water supply drainage system to upgrade the toilet facilities.

Vestry Refurbishment
Once the vestry walls, ceiling and fire surround are repainted, and the flooring replaced, this room could be used for meetings and as a kitchenette.

Car Parking Spaces
Land for a new parking area needs to be acquired and formed to provide sufficient car parking space for larger events.

Water Supply & Toilet
Once water is reticulated to the premises and a drainage system installed, the toilet facilities can be upgraded to a flush toilet and hand-basin.
Events
The kirk has held several events in the past year and has more in the 2025 calendar.

Peter Morrison Memorial
On the 18th October, 2023 Storm Babet brought down two ash trees on the memorial causing severe damage.
The shattered memorial stone was rebuilt, the marble plaque was pieced back together, the cast iron railings were repaired to their original state and are in the process of being painted. Thanks to the Historic Asset Management Project of Aberdeenshire Council for their involvement.
